Tartan Day. The Act of Proscription effected on the 1st August 1746, denied the Scottish their right to wear what they wanted and keep their unique pastimes and lifestyle, was repealed on the 1st July 1792. Waipu has 2 weeks of celebrations whereas the rest of NZ is usually only one day!
